Planities valvarum cordis a summo visum: Aortae valva ("Ao" in imagine) tribus valvulis semilunaribus composita in medio ceterarum valvarum cordis locata est.

Valva aortae est una ex quattuor valvis cordis, inter ventriculum sinistrum et aortam locata. Composita est valva aortae ex tribus valvulis semilunaribus fluxum permittens sinistro ex ventriculo in circulationem corporis at inhibens sanguinis fluxum retrorsum ex aorta in ventriculum sinistrum.

Rarius valva aortae ex duabus valvulis[1], rarissime ex quattuor valvulis composita est[2] ("valva quadricuspidalis").

Stenosis ad valvae inopiam se plene aperire spectat[3].
Insufficientia valvae aortae ad valvae infirmitatem refluxum inhibendi spectat.
