Surya (Sanskrit : सूर्य , IAST : Sūrya - "Matahari "[ 3] , juga Aditya , Arka , Bhanu , Savitr , Pushan , Ravi , Martanda , Mitra , Bhaskara and Vivasvan .[ 4] [ 5] [ 6] ) ialah dewa yang mewakili matahari dalam kepercayaan Hinduisme [ 7] dalam aliran Saura di utara benua India, namun ia juga didapati dalam penulisan anutan Buddhism dan Jainisme .[ 8]
[ 9] Dewa ini antara lima betara utama yang wajib dipercayai dalam anutan Hindu terutamanya untuk mencapai Brahman .[ 10]
Dewa ini sering digambarkan menaiki pedati dinaiki tujuh kuda [ 1] melambangkan tujuh warna mudah dilihat dan tujuh hari peredaran lengkap dalam seminggu.[ 3] [ 11] Ia turut mempunyai chakra nya yang tersendiri (Dharmachakra ).[ 12]
