Tenrecidae ialah keluarga afroteria yang endemik dalam pulau Madagaskar[2] merangkumi mana-mana spesies mamalia kecil yang disebut setempatnya sebagai tandraka atau trandraka.[a]
Semua spesies tanderak dipercayai berasal daripada suatu haiwan leluhur sama yang hidup 29–37 juta tahun lalu[4][5][6] selepas dibawa terhanyut seberang dari benua Afrika.[7][8] Evolusi beransur-ansur keturunan haiwan asal yang terselamat ini lama-lama mewujudkan banyak spesies moden berbadan mirip aneka rodensia, landak susu, oposum dan yang seumpamanya menduduki pelbagai persekitaran baik daratan, atas pepohon mahupun kawasan berair dalam pulau tersebut.
