Gymnoascus is een geslacht van schimmels, dat behoort tot de ascomyceten.^[1] De schimmels van dit geslacht komen wijdverspreid voor op het Noordelijk halfrond. Tot het geslacht behoren 26 soorten.^[2]

Het ascocarp is een gymnothecium.
