De Scottish Premier League (SPL) was van 1998 tot 2013 de hoogste voetbaldivisie in het Schots voetbalsysteem. De SPL en SFL fuseerden in 2013 en richtten de nieuwe Scottish Professional Football League op als opvolger.[1]
Aan het einde van het laatste seizoen, 2012/13, stond de Scottish Premier League op 24e plek in de ranglijst van de UEFA, gebaseerd op de prestaties van de deelnemende clubs in de Europese competities. In totaal speelden er negentien clubs in de SPL. Celtic FC en Rangers FC verdeelden alle titels.
