Epirus (Greek: Ήπειρος, Ípeiros), formally the Epirus Region (Περιφέρεια Ηπείρου, Periféria Ipeírou), is a geographical an admeenistrative region in northwastren Greece.[1] It borders the regions o Wast Macedonie an Thessaly tae the east, Wast Greece tae the sooth, the Ionian Sea an the Ionian Islands tae the wast an the kintra o Albanie tae the north. The region haes an aurie o aboot 9,200 km2 (3,600 sq mi). It is pairt o the wider historical region o Epirus, which owerlaps modren Albanie an Greece but maustly lees in modren Greek territory.
