Nuevo Urecho

Nuevo Urecho is a municipality locatit in the centre o the Mexican state o Michoacán. The municipality haes an aurie o 330.66 square kilometres (0.56% o the surface o the state)^[1] an is bordered tae the north bi the municipality o Taretan, tae the east bi Ario, tae the sooth bi La Huacana, an tae the wast bi Gabriel Zamora. The municipality haed a population o 7,722 inhabitants accordin tae the 2005 census.^[2] Its municipal seat is the ceety o the same name.

In pre-Columbie times Urecho wis successively habiatatit bi Chichimecas an then the pouerful P'urhépecha fowk. Urecho means "Place Locatit in Tierra caliente".
