Triumph TR2

The Triumph TR2 (TRiumph 2 litre sports) wis built atween 1953 an 1955 bi the Standard Motor Company in the Unitit Kinrick, during which time 8,636^[1] caurs wur produced. The DVLA revealed in 2002 that anerlie 517 examples o this caur remain on UK roads.^[2]

The caur uised a twin SU carburetor version o the 1991 cc fower cylinder Standard Vanguard ingine tuned tae increase its ootput tae 90 bhp (67 kW).

The body wis mountit on a substantial separate chassis wi coil-sprung independent suspension at the front an a leaf spring live axle at the rear. Either wire or disc wheels coud be supplied. The standard transmission wis a fower speed manual unit but overdrive wis available on top gear as an option. Lockheed drum brakes wur fittit all roond.
