Albert Leonard "Al" Rosen (February 29, 1924 – March 13, 2015), nicknamed "Flip" and "The Hebrew Hammer" (he was of Jewish descent),[1] was an American professional baseball player. He was a third baseman and right-handed slugger in the Major Leagues for ten seasons in the 1940s and 1950s.
Rosen played for the Cleveland Indians throughout his entire baseball career. He began playing for them in 1947. He retired in 1956.
Rosen was born on February 29, 1924 in Spartanburg, South Carolina.[2] He was raised in Miami, Florida. Rosen died on March 13, 2015 in Rancho Mirage, California, aged 90.[3]
