Alnilam, also called Epsilon Orionis, is a blue supergiant star and the central star of Orion's Belt in the constellation Orion. It is 42 times the Sun's diameter but over 800,000 times brighter.[1] It is over 400 parsecs or 1,300 light years away.[2]
