Ashley Brooke Moody (born March 28, 1975) is an American politician and attorney serving as the junior United States Senator from Florida since 2025. She was the 38th attorney general of Florida from 2019 to 2025. Moody also served as a judge with the Thirteenth Judicial Court of Florida from 2007 to 2017.
During her time as Florida attorney general, Moody has supported lawsuits against the Affordable Care Act, supported voting rights for former felons, and was against the legalization of recreational marijuana. Moody joined in the Texas v. Pennsylvania lawsuit, which wanted to overturn the results of the election.[1][2]
On January 16, 2025, Governor Ron DeSantis announced he would pick Moody to replace Marco Rubio in the U.S. Senate.[3][4] She is Florida's second female senator, after Paula Hawkins.[5] Moody was sworn in on January 21, 2025 by Vice President JD Vance.[6]
