Avengers: Infinity War is a 2018 American superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics superhero team the Avengers. The movie is produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. It is the sequel to The Avengers (2012) and Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) and the 19th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
It was directed by Anthony and Joe Russo with the screenplay written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. The movie features a ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldaña, Josh Brolin and Chris Pratt.
It premiered in Los Angeles on April 23, 2018 and was released in the United States on April 27. It was positively welcomed by audiences, fans and film critics alike which praised its directing, story, humor, character dynamics, emotional weight, musical score, Thanos's representation, CGI and action scenes. A sequel was made for it, titled Avengers: Endgame, and was released on April 26, 2019.
