Disintegration is the eighth studio album by English gothic rock band The Cure. It was released on 2 May 1989 through Fiction Records. It went to number 2 in Belgium, Germany, Ireland and number 3 in France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, number 6 in New Zealand, number 9 in Australia and number 12 in the United States. In 2020 it was ranked #116 in Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time".
