Eureka, Illinois

Eureka is a small city of Illinois in the United States. In 2020, 5,227 people lived there.^[1] Eureka College, a place where Abraham Lincoln spoke^[2] and where Ronald Reagan graduated, is in Eureka.

Eureka was started in 1855. It was called Walnut Grove. The name was changed to Eureka because there was another Walnut Grove. No one agrees about who thought of the name Eureka.^[3] The name Eureka comes from a Greek word that means "I found it".^[4]
