Evanston is a city in Illinois in the United States. It is 12 miles (19 km) north to the center of Chicago, and is a part of the Chicago Metropolitan Area. The mayor of Evanston is Daniel Biss.[3]
In March 2021, after Evanston passed a measure offering reparations to black residents over slavery, becoming the first in the United States to do so.[4]
