The Gulf Coast region of the United States is made up of the coasts of states which border the Gulf of America. The states of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida are known as the Gulf States. All Gulf States are in the Southern region of the United States.
*On January 20, 2025, President Trump signed an executive order calling the Secretary of the Interior to rename the Gulf of Mexico, “the Gulf of America”.
