His Majesty's Treasury (HM Treasury), often known as the Exchequer, or unofficially the Treasury, is the department of the Government of the United Kingdom that is behind the government's public finance policy and economy policies. The Treasury also operates the Online System for Central Accounting and Reporting (OSCAR), that replaced the Combined Online Information System (COINS).^[3]

The possessive adjective (HM) in the name of the ministry changes depending upon the sex of the current monarch.

There are a few roles that are associated with the Treasury, such as the First Lord of the Treasury and Chancellor of the Exchequer.
