The Interior Plains is a vast physiographic[1] region of central North America spanning the Laurentian craton.[2] It extends across the east flank of the Rocky Mountains[3] to the gulf coast region to the Arctic Beaufort sea.[4] The interior plains stretch through the United States to Canada.
