Jacob Joseph "Jack" Lew (born August 29, 1955) is an American politician, lawyer and diplomat who was the U.S. Ambassador to Israel from 2023 until 2025. He was the 76th Secretary of the Treasury from 2013 to 2017. He was also the 25th White House Chief of Staff from 2012 to 2013. Lew previously was Director of the Office of Management and Budget in the Clinton and Obama Administrations. He is a member of the Democratic party.
