Joakim Soria (born May 18, 1984 in Monclova, Mexico)[1] is a Major League Baseball (MLB) relief pitcher for the Detroit Tigers. He was with the Kansas City Royals from 2007 to 2012, and was an All-Star twice for the Royals. He was nicknamed "The Mexicutioner",[2] but in February 2011, he said that he does not want to be called that anymore because of violence in Mexico.[3]
