Star Wars: Battlefront is both a third-person and first-person shooter video game. It was published by LucasArts and was developed by Pandemic Studios.[1] The game was released on September 21, 2004 for the Windows, PlayStation 2, and Xbox.[2] It was also released on July 18, 2005 on Mac OS X and on November 1, 2005 for Mobile.[3][4]
A sequel titled Star Wars: Battlefront II was released the next year on November 1, 2005.[5] A reboot of the same name was released on November 17, 2015.[6] On March 14, 2024, Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection was released. It was a compilation of both the original Battlefront and Battlefront II.[7]
In the game, players can play as a member of one of the four main factions in the prequel and the classic movie trilogies. The factions that the player can choose from are the Galactic Republic, Confederacy of Independent Systems, Rebel Alliance, and the Galactic Empire. The player travels to different planets and fights enemies.[8]
