For the 2019 season, the Raptors won the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in the team's history.[8] Because of this, they also got the chance to play in the NBA Finals for the first time in their history.[9] They won the NBA Finals against the two-time defending champion Golden State Warriors in six games and became the first Canadian team to win an NBA Final.[10][11]Kawhi Leonard was named the Finals MVP for the second time in his career.
On November 2, 2024, the Raptors retired Vince Carter's No. 15 jersey number. Carter became the first player from the team's history to have his jersey retired.[12][13]
