Whiting is a city in the US state of Indiana. The city is in Lake County on the southern shore of Lake Michigan. It is a part of the Chicago Metropolitan District. There were 4,559 people living in Whiting according to the 2020 United States Census.[3]
The city is home to the Whiting Refinery. This is the biggest oil refinery in the Midwest.
