Eohippus (Yunanca:"şafak atı"), Eosen döneminde Kuzey Amerika'da yaşamış bazal atgil cinsi.^[2] Cinse ait tek tür, uzun süre Hyracotherium türü olarak kabul edilen E. angustidens'tir. Kalıntıları Kuzey Amerika'da (ABD ve Meksika) tespit edilmiştir ve Erken Eosen (İpresiyen: 56-47.8 myö) evresine tarihlenmektedir.^[3]
