Hoplestigmataceae là một họ được ghi nhận trong hệ thống APG II năm 2003 với vị trí không chắc chắn[1], nhưng không được công nhận trong hệ thống APG III năm 2009 và hệ thống APG IV năm 2016[2][3] và chi duy nhất của họ này là Hoplestigma được gộp vào họ Boraginaceae nghĩa rộng. Tuy nhiên, một số tác giả khác vẫn công nhận họ này.[4]
