A Doctor of Juridical Science (SJD; Latin: Scientiae Juridicae Doctor),[1] or a Doctor of the Science of Law (JSD; Latin: Juridicae Scientiae Doctor),[2] is a research doctorate degree in law that is equivalent to a Ph.D. degree.[3][4][5] In most countries, it is the most advanced law degree that can be earned.
