Expedition of Khalid ibn al-Walid,[5] to Dumat Al-Jandal, to attack the Christian Prince of Duma, took place in March 631 AD, 9AH, 11th month of the Islamic Calendar,[3][5][6][7] or October 630 AD according to William Montgomery Watt.[8]
Finally, about October 630(vii/9), Khalid b. al-Walid was sent from Tabuk to Dumat al-Jandal with 420 horsemen. By capturing the 'king', Ukaydir b. 'Abd al-Malik al- Kindi, he secured the surrender of the stronghold. Apparently an immediate payment was to be made of 2,000 camels, 800 slaves, 400 coats of mail, and 400 lances, while for the future there was to be an annual jizyah or poll-tax.(free online)
