Institute of Linguistics (CASS)

The Institute of Linguistics (CASS), full name Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (simplified Chinese: 中国社会科学院语言研究所; traditional Chinese: 中國社會科學院語言研究所; pinyin: Zhōngguó Shèhuì Kēxuéyuàn Yǔyán Yánjiūsuǒ), is the language research institution of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It was established in June 1950 by the name of "Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Sciences". In 1977, after the establishment of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, it was renamed the "Institute of Linguistics, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences". This institute is the editor of the Xinhua Dictionary and the Contemporary Chinese Dictionary.[1] [2] [3]
