A Malassay (Harari: መለሳይ Mäläsay, Somali: Maalasay) "Mallaasay" Afár:was a member of the elite cavalry units that formed the Adal Sultanate's household troops.[1][2] According to Manfred Kropp, Malassay were the Harari armed forces.[3]
