Hello. I just wanted to let you know that when you add the title of a book, film, album, magazine, or TV series to an article, it should be italicized by adding two single apostrophes (
''
) on both sides. Titles of television episodes, short stories and songs should be placed within quotation marks. More detail can be found in the Wikipedia Manual of Style. Thank you.
![]() | This template should always be substituted (i.e., use {{subst:Uw-italicize}} ). Any accidental transclusions will be automatically substituted by a bot. |
![]() | Any breaking changes to this template, including moving it or nominating it for deletion, must be communicated in advance to Twinkle's users and maintainers at Wikipedia talk:Twinkle. The standard installation of Twinkle relies on this template. Thank you. |
How to use:
{{subst:Uw-italicize}}
{{subst:Uw-italicize|Article}}
references a specific article{{subst:Uw-italicize|Article|Additional text}}
adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you"{{subst:Uw-italicize||Additional text}}
or {{subst:Uw-italicize|2=Additional text}}
also adds text onto the end of the message instead of "Thank you", but doesn't link a page as specified by the article.
{{subst:Uw-italicize}}
rather than {{Uw-italicize}}
.1=
" if the article contains an equals sign and use "2=
" if the additional text contains an equals sign (such as a URL).
